How The Olympian Endowment Funds are Making a Difference

About Our Funds and Why Transparency Matters

The Columbus East Alumni Association General Endowment Fund and the Phil Houston Memorial Student Support Fund were established to provide lasting financial support for Columbus East students, programs, and initiatives—especially those facing barriers to full participation. These funds represent our community’s commitment to lifting up current and future Olympians.

We believe that transparency is essential to building trust with our donors, alumni, and school community. By openly sharing how and where funds are used, we ensure accountability and demonstrate the impact of every contribution. Together, we’re investing in students—and we want you to see that difference in action.

Fund Disbursement Summaries:

April 2025 - $500.00 awarded to the Bartholomew Consolidated School Foundation to support the Bob Gaddis Stadium Sign Fundraiser: Fund Used - Columbus East General Endowment Fund

June 2025 - $440.00 awarded to the Columbus East girls basketball program to assist two players in attending a team basketball summer camp, due to demonstrated financial need: Fund Used - Phil Houston Memorial Student Support Fund

June 2025 - $500.00 awarded to the Columbus East boys basketball program to assist three players in attending a team summer camp, due to demonstrated financial need: Fund Used - Phil Houston Memorial Student Support Fund

August 2025 - $300.00 awarded to the Columbus East Drama Department program to assist students attend an IRT play in Spring 2026, students who demonstrate financial need: Fund Used - Phil Houston Memorial Student Support Fund

October 2025 - $500.00 awarded to the Columbus East Athletic Department to replace a 20+ year old freezer for the main gym concession stand. Fund Used - CEAA General Endowment Fund

November 2025 - $150.00 awarded to CEHS Social Studies teacher, Tyler Davis, to help support 10 students who demonstrate financial need to attend class field trips second semester 2026.

Reporting current: November 10th, 2025
* All financial requests submitted to the Columbus East Alumni Association (CEAA) are first reviewed by the Finance Review Committee. If the committee recommends approval, the request is then presented to the full CEAA Board for a final vote. During this final stage, the Board also determines which specific fund will be used to fulfill the request.*
